Burns Night FUNdraiser
Once again Southampton New Temple’s Jerry Board organised a super Burns supper at the Kings Court Centre.
A packed dining room with 58 members, families and friends were treated to a grand evening celebrating the famous Scottish poet, Robert Burns.
Guest were welcomed to the centre by piper, Joe Fagin.
After a first course of traditional Scottish soup, Joe pipped-in the Haggis.
Joe then paraded around the tables playing the bagpipes with the centre’s chef, Simon Cocks, the Haggiis was then addressed and dispatched with the traditional words…
Fair fa' your honest, sonsie face,
Great chieftain o the puddin'-race!

Diners then tucked into their main course, followed by a Scottish desert.
The evening raised £547 profit, being split roughly 50/50 between Kings Court Centre and Joe donating his half to Alzheimers and also to a Stroke charity.
The Lodge Burns Supper is a very popular event and Jerry warns that ‘quite a few bookings have already been made for next year, which is hoped to be equally as good as the past two events’.
